Weekly Wishlist: Breadwinning Housewife Edition
Channeling that energy for myself.
Right at the top of the New Year, an astrologist popped up on my TikTok, and she said that Aquarians will be focused on the home this year. So far, she’s been right. Here’s a little snippet of some of the things I’ve been eyeballing recently.
Not because you need it, but in case you want it…
I fear I’ve outgrown my Zara and Amazon handbag era. Although I’m not a designer bag gal as it stands, I’ve found myself increasingly embarrassed by holding a cheap bag when it feels like all the girlies have invested in something a little more luxe when going to dinner or drinks (note: not that there’s anything wrong with carrying affordable bags – this is just how I’ve been feeling around friends lately). Maybe one day I’ll change my mind, but I’m freshly 28 years old – I really don’t feel the need for a designer bag right now, or possibly ever. But I am down to invest a little more than my typical $20, so I’ve been eyeballing this Dolce Vita shoulder bag that could work well for spring, fall, and winter. DV is mainly known for their shoes, but they have really beautiful bags that don’t break the bank and add a lot of zhuzh.
The Rhode Lip Contour sticks have taken the Internet by storm, and I’m sold. I really do love the peptide lip treatment – it’s actually the only product that keeps my lips from getting dry in the winter – and we all know the pocket blushes are it. I don’t typically overline my lips, but excited to try these out for a little more definition.
Hear me out… we listen and we don’t judge… I know I was just raving about my recent Breville espresso machine purchase last week, but after months of homemade latte after homemade latte, sometimes you just miss a plain black cup of coffee. Grant and I have been trying to decide what kind of coffee pot to get, but the reality is that the kitchen space in our apartment is limited, and I want something that looks good on the counter. We still have a gift card leftover to The Knot from our wedding registry, and I’ve been considering using it on the Smeg Coffee Maker.
Quite literally the cutest dog bed I’ve ever seen. I found this gem while scrolling through Pinterest, and I think Roscoe needs a little upgrade in his life.
I found these Emily Lex Studio watercolor workbooks over the holidays and immediately purchased a coastal-inspired one for my MIL! While I was at it, I naturally purchased a holiday-inspired one for myself, but I didn’t consider that I’d get home from the holidays and not want to look at it for another 10 months. So, ordering a workbook that carries through spring feels like the natural next step, right? My only caveat with these workbooks is they don’t come with a watercolor set like similar products, but I do think the illustrations are more beautiful than generic brands, so it’s worth it for a tiny additional investment. Also love the idea of framing these when you’re done and swapping them for random prints around the house each season. Picture this: me, a cup of coffee, and watercolor in the early morning…
Cheers!
